Humbug Hall a hit with bloke
The 2018 Burton Street Humbug Hall was a resounding success according to man who can't be doing with Christmas.
Run in tandem with our 8th Annual Christmas market (click here to read about the Christmas Market), Humbug Hall was tucked away in a quiet corner of the Burton Street Foundation's Victorian site. With its blanket ban on Santa hats, and fines in place for festive behaviour of any kind, the facility was a designated scrooge creche.
Throughout the day the room was overwhelmed, with visitors numbering almost in excess of one.
"Reyt up my street, this" said the event's sole patron, who was probably called Ian or Gary.
"I get dragged to this market by the missus every year" he continued. "It's nice to get away from all that rubbish".
Ian/Gary made full use of the wide range of facilities on offer, enjoying a nice quiet pint of Carling while browsing a well-thumbed July 2011 issue of Railway Modeller magazine.
We'd like to extend a huge thank you to Bob who generously volunteered his time to unlock the door in the morning, and a special thank you to Ian/Gary for making the event the huge success it was.
We're already looking forward to next year!
